Attention-seekers tend to feign depression: A common misconception is that people who seek attention have a habit of acting as if they have depression. This should be nipped in the bud simply because a person suffering from depression usually hates attention of any kind, and keeps mostly to himself or herself for the fear of being judged or made fun of. It is often difficult to understand what is going on in the mind of a person affected by depression because the pain and agony is not physical, but mental.
