Lily Collins opens up about her eating disorder

Lily Collins drew reference from her own experience and suffering to play the role of an anorexic patient for her latest movie “To The Bone.” A dark comedy based on the film director Marti Noxon’s eating disorders, it took Lily back to the times when she herself had suffered from an eating disorder.

In her memoir, “Unfiltered: No Shame, No Regrets, Just Me,” which would be serialized in The Times Magazine, Lily traces the origin of her eating disorder to her father Phil Collins’ divorce to his third wife and her then stepmother Orianne Cevey and the disconnect that grew between her father Phil and her.
